<aside> đź’ˇ Red River West & BivwAk! by BNP Paribas are organizing the first-ever Data-Driven VC Hackathon.

The event is open to everyone with coding skills. The goal is to mix industry specialists (more than 30 VCs from funds all over Europe will be present), students, and developers from all backgrounds who will be mixed in teams of 3 to 5.

They will have 2 days to build tools leveraging various data sources to improve how venture capital investors work (tools to spot or analyze startups, to spot market trends, to automate parts of the VC work, etc.)

They’ll be able to leverage API from tier 1 data providers (PeopleDatalabs, SimilarWeb, PredictLeads, and others).

📜 Context

Over the past two decades, public markets have embraced data-driven strategies, with hedge funds and global banks using advanced models to automate most transactions. In contrast, venture capital has largely relied on manual processes, and has been slow to adopt data and AI.

This is beginning to change. In recent years, some venture capital investors have adopted data and AI, primarily to identify and evaluate the most promising investment opportunities. We refer to these investors as Data-Driven VCs.

Today we are organizing the first-ever hackathon dedicated to Data-Driven VC at the heart of Paris with >20 VC firms from all over Europe that already confirmed their presence. We aim to reunite VC funds with people who might be interested in this industry: students, data scientists, developers, etc.
